Secure Payer–Provider Data Interface

Business Systems Analyst, 2017–2024

Designed SFTP interfaces with specific threshold limitations and scheduling to secure data transfers between payer and provider systems.

The Problem

Payer and provider systems needed a reliable, secure channel to exchange data on a recurring basis — but without volume limits and scheduling controls, a single oversized or mistimed transfer risked overwhelming downstream systems or violating data-handling agreements between organizations.

The Approach

Analyzed the transfer patterns and constraints on both sides of the exchange, then designed the interface around explicit threshold limits and a scheduling model rather than a simple always-on connection.

What I Built

  • Designed SFTP interface specifications with defined threshold limitations on transfer volume.
  • Built a scheduling model to control when and how often transfers occurred.
  • Coordinated with technical teams to implement and test the interface under realistic load.
  • Validated the interface's behavior against payer/provider data-handling requirements.

The Impact

A secure, production data interface between payer and provider systems.
Threshold and scheduling controls that prevented downstream system strain.
A reusable interface pattern for future payer/provider integrations.
